Oversees development of new business opportunities, and manages customer, consultant, and end user relationships .2 positions available: 1) Will focus efforts on customers in the Warehouse and Distribution markets. Will work out of the Louisville, KY corporate office. 2) Oversees new business development for Controls/Integrated Systems in Automated Manufacturing as well as W&D, Will work out of the Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga (Inland Empire), CA office. Directs sales and estimating team on proposal and relationship development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead strategy on new business areas or new markets for company.
Lead, direct, and manage business development activities and personnel.
Perform constant resource scheduling and ensure projects are suitably staffed.
In conjunction with Engineering, analyze market future needs and ensure company can efficiently and technically execute and staff future projects.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual booking forecasts and actuals.
Ensure quality on all sales and estimating deliverables – review and approve.
Contract terms and condition reviews at proposal stage prior to proposal submittal.
Work with Project Managers (PMs) on change orders and customer relationships during project execution.
Work with Accounting Manager and President on booking forecast, booking reporting, and commission payments.
Attend project review and staff meetings to report booking and market status.
Provide sales, estimating, and business development training to team.
Maintain customer contact records for company.
Suggest improvements to operation or financial processes to save time and money.
Work with relevant departments on special project estimated costs and KPI’s for standard projects.
Manage project handover from Sales to PM.
Work with consultants, customers, and end users at the proposal and execution stages of the project.
Perform constant resource scheduling of direct reports.
Develop and implement improved methods and procedures to improve the department's product and service, improve the time taken to provide specific elements (KPI’s).
Keep advised and provide counsel to team on customers and market requirements that can/will affect the company.
Coordinate with outside vendors on accounts payable.
Perform annual reviews on accounting personnel and align with company vision.
Any other task as directed by management.
Responsibility and Authority
Responsibility: Noted above - Accurate estimates.
Authority: up to $750,000 proposal value profit level approval.
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communications skills.
Strong overall business management skills.
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with co-workers and customers, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Alliant Technologies Employee Handbook and all company policies. Must be able to interpret written warnings as posted in all work areas in both the Alliant Technologies office or at any work site where Alliant Technologies performs work.
Minimum of 10 years account management, selling role, business development in the Warehouse and Distribution market.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
