Körber Logistics Systems North America, Inc. is currently seeking two highly-motivated Commissioning Engineers to program and commission both specialized palletizing solutions for production environments (Langhammer) as well as de-palletizing systems for warehouses/distribution centers (Riantics A/S). The Commissioning Engineer will work partly from the company’s office in Pittsburgh as well as on project assignments at customer facilities across North America (up to 50%). He/she will perform programming tasks both independently and under the direction of a team member for larger projects.


  • Map machine and material handling processes for automated palletizing and de-palletizing systems per unique customer requirements
  • Program PLC and HMI software per company standards
  • Program VFDs and Servo drives as well as interfaces for third-party controllers
  • Design controls concept and configure hardware according to circuit diagrams
  • Collaborate with co-workers in the US and Europe and participate in team meetings
  • Conduct hands-on training in the field for customer base
  • Complete other assigned tasks as required for business success


  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT or engineering discipline or equivalent on-the- job training
  • Well-founded understanding of machine and material handling processes
  • Solid programming experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 is required; knowledge of Siemens TIA would be advantageous
  • Solid experience in programming Yaskawa robots is required
  • Solid experience in Allen Bradley VFDs and Motion control is required
  • Knowledge of C++ and CoDeSYS is desired
  • Good to very good command of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other Körber Logistics Systems teams (production, R&D, purchasing, sales, project execution)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and structured work processes that focus on detail and quality assurance
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills; foreign language abilities would be of value but are not required (Spanish, German, French or Danish preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, both nationally and internationally
