About the Speaker: Dr. Nido Qubein came to the United States as a teenager with little knowledge of English and only $50 in his pocket. His life has been an amazing success story. As an educator, he is president of High Point University, an undergraduate and graduate institution with 4,000 students. He has authored two dozen books and audio programs distributed worldwide. As a business leader, he is chairman of Great Harvest Bread Company and serves on the boards of several national organizations including BB&T, the La-Z-Boy Corporation and Dots Stores. He has been the recipient of many honors including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Horatio Alger Award for Distinguished Americans, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, Sales and Marketing International’s Ambassador of Free Enterprise, Citizen of the Year and Philanthropist of the Year in his home city of High Point, North Carolina, and dozens more.

Hal previously served as the Executive Vice President of Business Development at MHI and is currently serving as an Executive Consultant for MHI. Hal has served Fortune 100 capital goods producers in marketing, strategic planning, manufacturing, materials/logistics and general management in the material handling and the nonresidential construction industries. He is a member of the National Association of Business Economists (NABE), the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE), and the America Society for Association Executives (ASAE) and serves on the United States Federal Reserve Board’s (Richmond Division) Quarterly Economic Roundtable.
