1) AEM

A conveying system which consists of monorail track, track mounted electrification, individually powered vehicles, a supporting structure, a control system, lifts, switches and turntables.

2) Air chain hoist

A pneumatically driven machinery unit, utilizing chain as its lifting medium, and used for the lifting and lowering of a freely suspended (unguided)load.  Often used in environments that require electric spark avoidance due to a potentially explosive atmosphere.

3) Air hoist

A suspended machinery unit that is powered by pneumatically driven motors and is used to lift or lower a freely suspended (unguided) load.  Generally uses chain or wire rope as its lifting medium.

4) Air wire rope hoist

A pneumatically driven machinery unit, utilizing wire rope as its lifting medium, and used for the lifting and lowering of a freely suspended (unguided) load.  Often used in environments that require electric spark avoidance due to a potentially explosive atmosphere.

5) Arm conveyor

A conveyor consisting of an endless belt, one or more chains, to which are attached projecting arms, or shelves, for handling packages or objects in a vertical or inclined path.

6) Automated dispenser

A series of vertical product dispensers which kick individual units of products out the bottom onto a conveyor.

7) Automated Electrified Monorail

Automated Electrified Monorail describes a conveying system which consists of monorail track, track mounted electrification, individually powered vehicles, a supporting structure, a control system, lifts, switches and turntables as are necessary.

8) Bin storage

May be considered a special case of shelving. The horizontal opening would typically be much narrower than that found in shelving and would have a vertical restraining member across the lower face of the bin opening.

9) Bottom block

The device at the bottom of a hoist's lifting medium (chain/wire rope) through which the medium is reeved and supports the hook and/or an attachment.  May be stationary or rotating depending upon the requirements for the piece of lifting equipment.

10) Bridge Crane

A lifting and horizontal movement device mounted on a "bridge" of one or more horizontal girders (bridge girders) which are supported at either end by trucks (end trucks).  These trucks are attached at right angles to the girders and move on runways which are attached to a building's columns, overhead trusses, frames, or via a free standing system of columns.

11) Carousel

Carousels are a technology used to store items for eventual picking or retrieval. There are two primary types of carousels and one related technology, all of which operate under some form of computer control. 12) Chain hoist

Generally, any hoist which utilizes link or roller chain as its lifting medium.  Chain hoists can be manually operated  (hand or lever), pneumatically driven, or electrically driven.

13) C hook

A device, generally attached to the hook of a lifting device via a bail, which "grabs" a coil of materials when inserted into the ID of that coil.  Derives its name from the physical appearance of the device which resembles the letter "C".  May utilize counter- balancing weights to add stability and balance in the lifting motion.

14) Coil grab

Lifting devices, generally attached to a hoist or lift truck, which attach to a coil's OD via tongs or gripping mechanisms and enable the coil to be lifted without damage to the material.  May also be configured to "turn" the coil over or move it in directions other than vertical.

15) Column mounted jib crane

Also referred to as a "pillar-supported" jib crane.  The jib is attached to a self-supporting floor mounted or floor to ceiling mounted mast.  A column mounted jib crane may also be supported vertically by a structural column of the building structure itself.
