NexSys batteries provide a virtually maintenance-free solution for floor care equipment applications

Monday, October 24, 2016

READING, Pa., October 17, 2016 – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, will feature NexSys® batteries in booth no. 3669 at ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America 2016. The show will take place Oct. 25-28 at McCormick Place South Hall, Chicago, Illinois.
Ideal for use in industrial floor scrubbers, sweepers and other floor care equipment applications, NexSys® batteries offer floor care providers a minimal-gassing, virtually maintenance-free power solution. The batteries never require watering, reducing associated labor demands and the risk of spills from overwatering. Featuring Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, NexSys® batteries have a longer cycle life and provide 20% more power than the same size conventional flooded or sealed lead acid batteries.
“Unlike conventional lead acid batteries that can take up to 12 hours to recharge, NexSys® batteries have the ability to fast-charge in just over an hour,” said Chad Uplinger, general manager, specialty markets at EnerSys. “With NexSys® batteries, operators now have the flexibility for opportunity charging during breaks or at the end of a shift, with no need for a long equalization cycle and no risk to the battery.”
Classified as non-spillable electric storage batteries, NexSys® batteries are constructed with 99 percent pure lead and a high purity sulfuric acid to minimize the potential risk of corrosion and sulfation common to conventional lead acid batteries. The TPPL design enables more plates to fit in the battery, providing more power in 30 percent less space than conventional lead acid batteries. NexSys® batteries also deliver high electrolyte absorption and stability to help enhance cyclic capability. With a shelf life of up to two years at 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius), NexSys® batteries provide unmatched performance across a wide range of temperatures, also making them ideal for cold storage applications.
