viastore will debut innovative solutions that are the future of intralogistics at ProMat 2017

Tuesday, March 28, 2017

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, March 27, 2017 – Next week at ProMat 2017 in booth S3440, viastore will be showcasing a variety of innovative intralogistics solutions, all of which help users quickly, easily, and flexibly meet the demands of the future – thereby giving them the competitive advantage. Progressive technologies related to Industry 4.0 will be available for visitors to try out for themselves and see in action by means of immersive multimedia such as virtual reality and 360-degree videos, including a speed picking challenge.

Immersion into intralogistics
The viastore booth will feature an interactive game called the Speed Picking Challenge. In this game a virtual world has been created where players can experience the integration of the company’s material handling solutions and technologies, such as pick-to-light functionality, viaflex shuttle systems, and viadat WMS. In this virtual world, players will compete to see who can follow the instructions and pick the items the fastest and most accurately – prizes will be included. Players will be able to monitor their progress on a leaderboard which will be displayed at the booth.

Another experience is a 360-degree video which allows visitors to experience an actual warehouse system where viastore has implemented tailor-made solutions to efficiently integrate the customers warehousing and production process. Visitors will be able to navigate through the logistics center using a tablet and can closely examine individual components and processes. In both experiences, other visitors can follow along on large monitors in the booth.

Plug & play automation for your manual warehouse
viastore will introduce its new autonomous warehouse and order picking solution, viarobot, which is highly flexibly, easily scalable, and installed quickly in existing or new warehouses automatically via plug & play functionality. Your shelf rack remains unchanged, and viarobot is in charge of the storage, retrieval, and picking of containers and cartons of different sizes and properties. viarobot adjust to all structures of the building, regardless of obstacles. The available space is optimally used – up to a level of 13 feet, which a worker would not be able to handle without aids. Visitors can stop by the booth to see a video of viarobot at work.

Intuitive warehouse management system
viastore has given its established warehouse management system, viadat, an extensive upgrade. viadat WMS reliably and efficiently manages material flow and order picking systems, conventional and automated warehouses, distribution centers and logistics centers. One of the innovative new features of viadat 9.0 is the intuitive user interface which is simple to implement and easy to learn, with minimum training required. The user-specific dashboards display individualized information needed to plan and monitor day-to-day operations – from any device. Moreover, the warehouse management software is independent of databases and operating systems and ideally suited for small warehouses with low throughput rates to distribution centers with hundreds of thousands of order lines a day thanks to its scalability and multi-client capability. Visitors can experience the new viadat interface up close and try it out for themselves.
