Komatsu Forklift Displays 4-Wheel Electric Forklift at ProMat

Monday, April 03, 2017

Rolling Meadows, IL – March 30, 2017. Komatsu Forklift U.S.A. is excited to announce that they will display their 4-wheel electric forklift, the BBX50 at the upcoming ProMat
2017 show at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois. This Komatsu electric counterbalanced sit-down forklift series offers four different models with lifting capacities ranging from 4,000 to 6,500 pounds. Unlike some competitors, these trucks are total AC and feature both an AC drive motor and an AC hydraulic motor aimed at reducing truck maintenance costs and increasing customer productivity.

This latest generation of electric forklift features increased performance, power, and reliability while reducing maintenance and service time and therefore overall operating
costs. The advancement from DC motors to AC motors has enabled Komatsu to increase power and performance while reducing the number of replacement parts. In
addition to the changes to the drive system, several new operator compartment improvements have also been implemented. The operator can now control several key
programming functions including maximum speed, lifting speed, and regenerative braking. This Komatsu electric forklift is ideally suited for indoor applications including
warehousing, grocery, beverage, carpet, and many more.

Standard models and truck features include the following:
  • 4,000 / 5,000 / 6,000 / 6,500 lbs. of capacity
  • 36 / 48 volt electrical system – automatically detects battery voltage and will operate on either voltage
  • TOTAL AC system provides power for all truck functions for greater productivity and efficiencies – Drive, hydraulics, and steering Komatsu Forklift U.S.A.
  • Regenerative electrical braking is programmable in four modes: Direction Reversing, Neutral (with accelerator pedal raised), Ramp Operation, and with the Brake Pedal
  • Service brakes are hydraulically operated, self-energizing, drum and shoe-type brakes on each drive wheel for positive operator control
  • The operator compartment is designed for comfort and productivity with large open steps; low step height; wide open floor board with optimum pedal placement; tilt steering column; small diameter steering wheel; display panel on console and seat-side hydraulic levers all combine to create the most open and visible operator environment possible
  • Solid beam steer axle is mounted on rubber mounts with eccentric trunnions to absorb impact and control axle articulation
  • EZview Mast System offers excellent operator visibility and are available in 2-stage Free View; 2-stage, 3-stage, and 4-stage Full Free Lift Free View configurations for a wider variety of customer applications
  • The dash display unit is also used to access the main controller for setting adjustable parameters and for service technician access for troubleshooting
