46) Electrostatic protection

Protection from static charges.

47) Empty pallet stacker

A transporter or device used to distribute, move and store empty pallets.

48) Enclosed track

A track section, usually in a rectangular tube shape, that possesses a continuous slot running lengthwise along the underside of the section.  This slot permits carriers and end trucks to travel on the interior bottom flange of the track section.

A track section, usually in a rectangular tube shape, that possesses a continuous slot running lengthwise along the underside of the section.  This slot permits carriers and end trucks to travel on the interior bottom flange of the track section.

50) End effector

An attachment, such as grippers, spraying nozzles, welding tooling, and measuring devices, connected to the mechanical portion of a manipulator, balancers, positioner, or robot.  Generally designed to fit a certain need and or lifting situation but is not restricted to single task.

51) End/side axle load capacity

The maximum amount of single axle laod (in the case of rolling loads) which may be applied to the loading edge of a lift platform (end or side) when the lift is in its raised position.

52) End/side edge load capacity

The maximum amount of static load that can be applied to the edge of a platform (end or side) when the lift is in any raised position.

53) Enterprise resource planning

Enterprise Resource Planning, or ERP, is a refinement to MRP/MRP II.  With the addition of a relational database, a graphical user interface, and client/server architecture, ERP is a time- and capital-intensive inventory management system.

The design of working conditions to better accommodate the human body's capabilities and limitations (human factors).  Ergonomics is also known as the study of work tasks with an emphasis on reducing to a practical minimum the physiological cost of doing the work.

Ergonomic Assist Systems and Equipment (EASE) is the resource for trends, information, practices, equipment, and organizations that focus on ergonomics and improving the working interface between people and the materials they must move and use to reduce injury, increase productivity while providing a significant return on investment.

56) ESD container

Any container that is designed to dissipate electrostatic discharge via it's material composition or configuration.

57) ESD product

Any product designed to dissipate electrostatic discharge in it's construction or composition.

58) ESD tote

A tote or bin that is designed to dissipate electrostatic discharge via it's composition materials or configuration.

59) Euro-pallet

The standard pallet in Europe. It is 1200 mm by 800 mm in dimension and has a wood block design between the top and bottom permitting four-way or four-sided entrance by lifting forks. Although other sizes exist in Europe, they are not nearly as prominent as the Euro-pallet.

60) Excess gain

The point at which just enough light intensity is present to trigger a photoelectric sensor given the usable area of the lens,  For example, an excess gain of two would mean that just enough light intensity is present to trigger a sensor with 50% of the lens obscured with contaminants.
