MHI, producer of the ProMat and MODEX expos, will celebrate its 70th Anniversary with an event during ProMat 2015 on Wednesday, March 25. The event will feature entertainment from comedian and impressionist Frank Caliendo.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI).
“For 38 years, MHEFI has supported material handling and logistics students. To date, more than $2.5 million in scholarships and grants have been awarded to students at 76 colleges and universities,” said George Prest, CEO, MHI. "These students are pursuing careers in the industry as engineers, project managers, upper management and professors. Most of them are employed in manufacturing and the supply chain."
“Donating proceeds to MHEFI is a great way for the industry to celebrate MHI’s 70th year and allows us to give back and support the future leaders of our industry,” Prest added.
MHEFI board members will be in attendance along with students who have benefited from MHEFI programs.
“We are very excited to have Frank Caliendo performing during our anniversary celebration” said Jeff Woroniecki, Chief Operating Officer, MHI. “After a long day of doing business on the show floor, this is a great way to allow exhibitors and attendees to unwind, network and enjoy a laugh or two.”
From his many appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and his weekly picks segment on the FOX NFL pregame show, Frank Caliendo has been a fixture on television for the last decade.
Known for his "dead on" impressions of famous actors (Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson and Robert DeNiro), politicians (George W. Bush and Bill Clinton) and broadcasters (John Madden, David Letterman, Jay Leno and Jim Rome), his high energy act is a blend of observations, impressions, characters and anecdotal stories.
MHI’s 70th Anniversary event will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the Grand Ballroom (S100) in the South Building of McCormick Place. Tickets go on sale October 1, 2014 at ProMatShow.com. The ticket price will be $50, and will include beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres at the reception.
ProMat (March 23-26, 2015 at McCormick Place, Chicago) attracts over 30,000 visitors from over 100 countries. In addition to the exhibition, ProMat 2015 will also offer a comprehensive Educational Conference featuring Keynotes and an educational conference. Industry experts will lead a broad range of show floor educational sessions covering all aspects of manufacturing, distribution and supply chain operations.
MHI is an international trade association that has represented the material handling, logistics and supply chain industry since 1945. MHI members include material handling and logistics equipment and systems manufacturers, integrators, consultants, publishers, and third party logistics providers. The association sponsors the ProMat and MODEX expos to showcase the products and services of its member companies and to educate manufacturing and supply chain professionals.
