Metzingen, April 2024 — The new paper cushioning system PAPERplus® Classic CX from Storopack produces robust yet flexible paper cushions, which adapt to the shape of the shipping goods, providing optimum protection even for heavy goods within the box. Thanks to perforated paper, the individual cushions can be easily separated from each other, meaning that the machine does not need a blade. As such, users benefit from safe and ergonomic workflows. In addition, the operator can choose between three different speeds and various padding properties to further increase packing comfort. The PAPERplus® Classic CX is very fast and can be integrated easily in any packing station due to its compact design. A Choice of Modes to Reflect Different Needs PAPERplus Classic® CX is a practical and user-friendly system that enhances the packaging processes of manufacturers and shipping companies alike. The high-performance PAPERplus® Classic CX produces paper cushions in seconds at the packing station. Doing so is very simple, with users choosing to operate the machine via touch screen or foot pedal. A selection of modes enables flexible production; for instance, paper cushions can be stored up for later use or produced individually as and when required. The paper consumable can be delivered via pallet which enables extremely long usage periods. If all the paper has been used up, the system can be reloaded in just a few simple steps. Thanks to the quick and easy feeding of the continuous paper, the machine is immediately ready for use again. Robust Paper Cushions for Optimum Protection The paper cushions produced using PAPERplus® Classic CX are exceptionally robust and ideal for protecting goods in medium-sized and large shipping cartons from damage. They fill voids, are suitable for wrapping/cushioning products, and block and brace shipping goods within the box. Cincinnati, January 2023. With PAPERplus® Dragonfly, Storopack is expanding its protective paper packaging portfolio. Based on the technology of the popular PAPERplus® Papillon machine, it is designed for fast and efficient void filling. Adjustable to three different speeds to suit the operators’ packing comfort, PAPERplus® Dragonfly produces between 160 and 200 feet of extra wide crimped paper pads per minute, rapidly filling the box to hold down and secure goods for shipment. It’s the only machine on the packaging market with a Variable Cushion Density Feature to create fluffy paper pads with adjustable volume as needed. This allows for optimal pack integrity in medium to large parcels weighing between approximately 11 and 22 pounds. Extra wide, fluffy paper padding “PAPERplus® Dragonfly is different, innovative and performs better than any other machine on the market,” says Paul Deis, PAPER Product Manager at Storopack. “There is no other system that can produce paper packaging with a comparable ‘fluffy’ volume. This reduces the amount of paper used in a box but still provides the best protection for the product.” Like PAPERplus® Papillon, Dragonfly is very safe to operate: with no cutting system, the machine’s sophisticated gears separate the paper. As with other PAPERplus® machines, it can easily be incorporated into existing packing processes. The consumable is a two-ply fan-folded paper available in two densities and two bundle lengths, including a continuous feed bulk pallet option for larger volumes. PAPERplus® Dragonfly will be available in North America starting in January. Metzingen, November 2022. With a new protective packaging solution, Storopack offers proof that temperature-sensitive products, such as food and pharmaceuticals, can be transported both sustainably and at exactly the right temperature. RENATURE® Thermo constitutes moisture-resistant paper cushioning with an insulating filling mainly made from plant-based starch. We only utilize starch that is a by-product of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of. RENATURE® Thermo can be reused multiple times – and disposed of in an exceptionally eco-friendly way. The paper and starch are made completely from renewable raw materials and can be easily recycled or composted; after use, consumers can simply separate the two components and dispose of them as recyclable paper/via compost or organic waste. RENATURE® Thermo is now available in North America. Storopack is working continuously to become even more sustainable and has set a target of making at least 50 percent of its internally manufactured protective packaging from recycled or sustainable raw materials by 2025. Perfect Cooling, All-Around Protection Thanks to the outstanding insulating properties of RENATURE® Thermo, the temperature inside the shipping carton can be kept within a variety of ranges, with different types of cooling media used to do so. As such, cold chains remain intact, even when it’s hot outside. RENATURE® Thermo boasts a practical U-shaped design, meaning that two cushions can effectively cover all six sides around the shipping goods for perfect protection within the box. Even sensitive goods such as medications are kept safe and sound. The U-shaped design also helps facilitate a fast, straightforward, and ergonomic packing process, as the goods are ready for shipping in the box in just a few steps. Another benefit is the cushions’ low weight, which helps to reduce shipping costs. On request, Storopack will supply customers with RENATURE® Thermo as a complete, shipping-ready set comprising a shipping carton, two RENATURE® Thermo paper cushions, and gel packs to keep the goods cool. Alternatively, customers can just order the sustainable protective packaging and use their own boxes and gel packs for their temperature-controlled consignments.
