CMAA is the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc., an independent trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry. CMAA traces its roots to the Electric Overhead Crane Institute, known as EOCI, which was founded in 1927 by leading crane manufacturers of that time to promote the standardization of cranes as well as uniform quality and performance. The voluntary association was incorporated as the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc. in 1955. Bushman Equipment, a manufacturer of custom-engineered material handling solutions, has delivered 33 special below-the-hook lifting devices to BrightSource Energy LLC. The Oakland, CA-based company is a global leader in solar thermal power plant technology.
Bushman recently shipped the largest upender in company history. The unit was shipped to a new 350,000 sq. ft. plant built by Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. in Memphis, TN. The upender will be used by Mitsubishi to handle components of the electric power transformers it produces—the largest of which weighs up to 500 tons.
Bushman has completed several projects for ZF Wind Power, LLC, a part of Germany’s ZF Friedrichshafen AG, a global manufacturer of automotive transmissions, steering systems, and axles, as well as transmission systems for commercial vehicles, off-road machinery, rail vehicles, marine craft, helicopters and wind turbines.
