EXPORT, PA — August 16, 2024 – FOX IV Technologies will officially launch their NEW 6312 Label Printer-Applicator. The 6312 is ideal for simple label print and apply applications, such as shipping labeling, as well as for small to medium size businesses looking to begin their automation journey. Designed to be an entry level label print and apply solution, the FOX IV 6312 is streamlined and simplified. By incorporating the Postek MX series print engine, no external PC or PLC is required. With just a few taps on the LCD touch screen, the entire labeling process can be set up and ready to use – no coding experience required! The best feature; however, is its affordability. The lower cost of acquisition makes automating labeling achievable for small to medium-sized businesses. “The 6312 is a great way to start automating your fulfillment processes,” explains FOX IV Marketing Manager Catherine Hornsby. “The large 4.5” touchscreen, built-in PLC, and simplified applicator controls makes the 6312 easy for operators to use. It can be set up on a new or existing conveyor or used with a manual trigger for semi-automatic labeling.” “Additionally,” says Ms. Hornsby, “the entry-level price point makes automating labeling easier to justify by providing fast ROI through increased throughput, labor time savings, and minimized labeling errors. For companies ready to move to the next level, it’s a great starting point.” The Postek MX print module is incorporated into FOX IV’s durable industrial applicator design. Labels up to 4.72” (120 mm) can be printed at speeds up to 18 ips, depending on model, and applied directly to the top, side, or bottom of a product, shipping box, reusable tote, or pallet. Systems are available with 203, 300, or 600 dpi print resolution. Other features include automated printhead pressure adjustments, a 12” OD label roll capacity, and automatic calibration for consistent high-quality printing. Several optional features are offered to customize the labeling experience, including RFID encoding and verification, 1D and 2D barcode verification, ribbon saver, and a wireless communication option. EXPORT, PA — January 19, 2023 In the world of on-demand print and apply labeling, your choices are usually black and white thermal or pre-printed color labels with variable overprint. With the NEW FOX IV Technologies C9100 print and apply system, on-demand labeling comes alive in high-definition, brilliant color, enabling users to eliminate pre-printed label inventory, automate manual labeling operations, and enhance their product image. The heart of the FOX IV C9100 is an Epson® ColorWorks® C6000 label printer integrated with a robust FOX IV application and rewind system. It is built using a solid aluminum, anodized center-wall and base for accurate label placement, an industrial applicator mechanism that is customizable to the application, and an in-line label waste rewind system to keep the production area neat. "The Epson® printers allow for a lot of flexibility with labeling," says Ed Fox, FOX IV Sales Director. "Each label can be unique to the product or customer. This allows manufacturers to personalize their labeling. Additionally, new label designs are immediately available without the wait for pre-printed labels - they can simply create their own. When incorporated with the FOX IV applicator design, you get a color label print and apply system that is accurate and reliable. " Additional benefits include the ability to streamline label stock, eliminate waste from obsolete labels, and increase visual appeal. The C9100 prints labels up to a 4.25" wide with print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, which suits most labeling applications. The unit accommodates a standard label roll size of 3" ID x 8" OD. Options for application include a cylinder tamp for top apply labeling, wipe-on application, and custom application methods. Application rates vary depending on the label quality selected. FOX IV's C9100 system is compact enough to add to production lines or be incorporated into a dedicated labeling station. "The footprint is small relative to full robotic labeling systems, making it ideal for small to medium sized manufacturers," explains Fox. "Because it can be configured for fully-automatic or semi-automatic operation, depending on the customer's needs, the C9100 can be placed directly on to a production line or incorporated into a dedicated labeling station." Summary: When a major 3PL sought to streamline its packing list and shipping label process as part of its plant automation, integrator Bastian Solutions recommended FOX IV Technologies' TwinPrint® dual-sided label print and apply systems, known for their reliability and efficiency.
An integrator was looking to replace obsolete label print and apply systems within established package handling framework. Total project was to replace over 100 existing systems.
An on-line maintenance, repair, and operations products distributor needed to add automated sequentially numbered 9 digit Code 128 “license plate” labeling to their shipping lines along with automated packing list/shipping labels. FOX IV provided a 6954 PLC controlled label printer applicator for each license plate labeling line as well as our patented TwinPrint® dual sided label print and apply systems for the packing slip/shipping labels. This solution enabled the customer to streamline the shipping lines by eliminating a workstation at each line and combining the shipping label/packing slip process into one.
An agricultural equipment manufacturer wanted to print, encode, and apply an RFID tag to a part, then place another label over the tag to act as a mask during the paint process. Factory temperatures can reach 110°F with an oily and dusty atmosphere. FOX IV provided the designated integrator with a PLC controlled 6984R-2 RFID label print and apply unit as well as a 1014 label applicator.
A large container manufacturer contacted FOX IV regarding a palletizing project installation using existing non-FOX IV equipment. FOX IV provided a custom software solution to work with the Kepware OPC and existing equipment. Following the first installation, the software was purchased and installed in two additional plant locations.
A small frozen food producer contacted FOX IV looking for labels to adhere to their frozen soup bags and containers. The end-user wanted labels to manually apply labels to their frozen soup bags and containers. After label stock testing by the customer, FOX IV supplied 1” x 2.5” synthetic labels with 1/8” label gap on 1.5” ID x 5” OD label rolls with 1,000 labels/roll. The synthetic labels had a special adhesive to adhere through moisture and freezer conditions.
A large meat products producer contacted a FOX IV Distributor to deliver a customized weigh-labeling system that includes a product database, reporting function, and label format creation. FOX IV provided a stand-alone FOX IV WLS-1 system with customized software. The system included a Honeywell M4308 Mark II Thermal Transfer label printer with LAN card, a Mettler-Toledo Industrial scale and terminal, computer with flat panel display, label design enterprise software, and software customization by FOX IV’s in-house software engineers.
FOX IV’s reputation in the automotive industry, the ease of integration of their 6954 print and apply, along with the proven industrial design made FOX IV equipment the best choice for automatically applying labels to the bottom of automobile frames.
FOX IV's expertise in drum and tub labeling along with their ability and experience with large label print and apply enabled FOX IV to provide the end user with a perfect solution to complete the automation of their production line.
A large national material handling company enlisted FOX IV to supply a unique labeling station as part of a conveyor and palletizing line that they were providing to an animal feed company. FOX IV designed an integrated labeling station complete with 2 x 1016 label applicators, material handling for block positioning, and a switch box to activate the appropriate labeler for the product being run or to bypass both labelers.
The American production facility of a large international glassware brand needed labeling systems that could move to a random production line without having to download a new label format at the line. There were no data connections at any of the production lines.
One of FOX IV's premier partners integrates the FOX IV model 5410 Mini into their bagging equipment. Utilizing FOX IV's engineering and customization expertise, FOX IV was able to design a specialized tamp assembly for the 5410 Mini label print and apply that would turn the label to the proper orientation after it was printer but before it was applied.
An international systems integrator contacted FOX IV about providing a made-to-order labeling system to print and apply labels to steel and aluminum elbow pipes. The FOX IV unit would be shipped overseas for integration into a larger tube packing system prior to being installed back in the United States.
A large automotive industry supplier needed to automate the labeling on two production lines. The customer had previously purchased FOX IV automated print and apply systems for two of their other plant locations. Due to the success of the systems in the other locations and FOX IV's ability to design application specific systems, the company went forward with purchasing their new print and apply systems from FOX IV.
