New system combines UWB-based environmental warning system with its proven fleet management platform into a single, seamless solution; will also preview an AI- and camera-based system for added layers of protectionCHICAGO, March 17, 2025 - ELOKON, a leader in safety and assistance systems for material handling and intralogistics, today introduced a single, integrated environmental warning and fleet management system to improve safety and productivity for forklift fleets in warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities. ELOfusion combines ELOKON’s ultra-wideband (UWB)-based ELOshield proximity detection system and the fleet management platform ELOfleet, offering collision avoidance, automatic speed reduction, comprehensive fleet management and centralized data analysis. ELOKON will demonstrate the new system at ProMat (booth #S3588) from March 17-20 in Chicago.Reports show the U.S. forklift market is projected to reach USD $35.7 billion by 2034, growing from an estimated value of USD $12.4 billion in 2025. Unfortunately, accidents involving manual forklifts are still a leading cause of injuries and even fatalities in the workplace, with 95 people on average seriously injured every day and one person killed every four days in the US alone, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA).“With the manual forklift market still growing, companies deploying these devices need a means of leveraging these heavy investments while improving safety and productivity,” said Alexander Glasmacher, CEO, ELOKON. “ELOfusion, which combines proven detection systems and fleet management capabilities, can be added directly to existing and new fleets of forklifts so companies can reduce the risk of accidents and facilitate the management of their fleets without wasting a dime.”ELOfusion: Two systems, one seamless solutionIn the integrated hardware and software solution, ELOfusion offers:• Collision avoidance: precise detection and avoidance of collisions between vehicles and people in real-time using UWB radio waves to gauge the distance between the forklift and surrounding obstacles. ELOfusion also offers a precise detection mechanism that can penetrate obstacles without false alarms and manage multiple pedestrian detections simultaneously. In a warehouse filled with shelves, machinery, and workers, for example, UWB systems can detect pedestrians and other material handling equipment even if they are behind obstacles.• Automatic speed reduction: Intelligent adjustment of speed in danger zones such as doorways or confined spaces.• Comprehensive fleet management features: RFID access control, impact sensors to detect violent damage, electronic safety checklists, analysis of driving, logging and idle times, battery management, and preventive maintenance scheduling.• Centralized data analysis: the ELOfleet.com platform can be used to centrally analyze all data from your forklift fleet to identify efficiency potential and optimize processes across all locations.ELOKON presents more product innovations, three educational seminars, at ProMatIn addition to ELOfusion, ELOKON will demonstrate:• ELOvision, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based environmental warning system leveraging a camera to provide an intelligent alternative to the UWB-based ELOshield,• ELOshieldAI, combining the AI-based camera system ELOvision with the UWB system ELOshield• Updates to ELOfleet, including digital maintenance management and a new digital document management system. In addition to the technology demonstrations, Glasmacher will present three seminars on “How Sensor Data Fusion is Enabling New and Transformative Forklift Safety and Fleet Management Products.” Attendees will learn how:• sensor data fusion is driving the adoption of smart forklift fleet and pedestrian safety solutions for safer, more efficient operations• infrastructure-free RTL and digital twins for warehouse safety are impacting operations• combining proximity detection systems with forklift fleet telematics transforms the industry from reactive impact recording to proactive collision avoidanceThese seminars will take place in on March 18 at 12 p.m. in theater G; March 19 at 3 p.m. in theater I, and March 20 at 9:30 a.m. in theater D.Visit ELOKON in booth #S3588 at ProMat in Chicago March 17-20.About ELOKONELOKON is a specialist in forklift telematics and safety systems, providing cutting-edge solutions to help customers enhance safety, efficiency and productivity in their warehouses, logistics and manufacturing operations.
