A 420,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility sits on a 25-acre site that centers on the movement of aerospace parts and structures via tooling carts, forklifts and bridge cranes. Material handling equipment was required in a new building to lift lightweight spacecraft structures, weighing under 1,000 lbs. Hansen knew who to call — Dave Spears, Regional Manager — West at CraneTech.
Southeast Crane & Hoist installed the overhead lifting equipment in the new no-bake foundry, where casting takes place using chemical binders to bond molding sand. The cranes are used for various material handling operations related to side floor molding for lower volume and large castings. Southeast Crane & Hoist is the only overhead lifting company that has installed overhead lifting equipment in Tyler Union Foundry’s operation.Justin Glass, Territory Sales Manager at Southeast Crane & Hoist, LLC, said: “We have a good relationship with the end user. The application is centered on supply of cranes of varying capacities, each for a different type of side floor molding process.”
ASC was presented with the material handling challenge when sales of its ovens increased.Demaio said: “In an effort to keep our shipping dates, we expanded and added another building, which required more overhead cranes. Previously, all of our production builds were being achieved in our two existing buildings that are at capacity.”Specht Industries was asked to design a 30-ton structure with three 5-ton capacity bridge cranes and a single 30-ton capacity bridge crane, with two 15-ton capacity hoists.Joe Specht, President and Owner at Specht Industries, said: “We overcame a 16-inch elevation slope within the facility, and larger-than-normal footings to meet seismic survey requirements. The customer needed to get the design, engineering, and the long lead time items within a two-monthperiod.”
Multi/Cable Corporation is a leading manufacturer of multi-conductor cable specializing in custom constructions, short runs, and quick turnarounds.
Founded in 1990, Stellar is a manufacturer of work trucks, trailers, and accessories. They have grown to be an international presence in their industry with multiple locations.
When an automotive recycler was expanding their facility, they turned to the products that have already worked for them in other areas of the business – Gorbel® Workstation Cranes and GS Series Hoists.
AeroCision has been a parts manufacturer for the commercial, military, business jet, turbine, and space industries for over 60 years. They needed to replace their facility’s hoist because it was awkward to use, inefficient, and nearing its lifting capacity for some materials.

Engineered Systems needed a solution that gave them the best headroom in the industry. Engineered Systems was also interested in bringing in the most advanced monitoring technology and remote connectivity to give them the biggest return on investment possible.
JR Automation / Setpoint arrived at a need for additional cranes due to increasing workload projections and the lifting requirements involved. 5-ton capacity top-running, single-girder crane kits were provided by R&M Materials Handling Inc. and installed by its distributor, Hoj Innovations. The cranes, which span 47 ft. 9 in. and offer 21 ft. of lift, feature R&M’s SX low-headroom wire rope hoists, which help to maximize the lifting height of each system.
Boxabl is a unique company, manufacturing high quality homes which can be delivered on a flatbed truck and erected the same day. American Equipment LLC recommended the installation of three 7.5-ton capacity top-running, single girder cranes from R&M Materials Handling, Inc. The cranes, which span 47ft 7ins and provide 25ft of lift, feature R&M’s SX low headroom wire rope hoists, which help to maximize the lifting height of each system.
RTI’s VanishPoint products have a unique retractable syringe and are used to administer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. RTI was previously using monorails over their injection molding machines and forklifts on the ground for transportation, but they found this to be inefficient because the fixed monorail beams did not offer any side-to-side movement capability of the trolley. OMi Crane Systems, Inc. recommended the installation of three cranes from R&M Materials Handling, Inc. OMi supplied RTI with 3-ton capacity, top-running single girder bridge cranes that feature an electric chain hoist and motorized trolley.
A 20 ton capacity overhead crane and hoist from R&M Materials Handling Inc. has been installed 400 ft. beneath the surface at the U.S. Gypsum Company Shoals Mine in Indiana. The top running, double girder crane, principally chosen based on the short lead time offered by R&M and its Indiana-based distributor, CraneWerks, is being used to assemble and maintain equipment for the mine underground.
