The nature of the gateway operations requires lower guardrail to protect areas from tugs and dollies and are much lower to the ground than a feeder, forklift, or package car and need protection at multiple points. Previous attempts to provide a protective guardrail failed to withstand vehicle impacts without breaking, bending or completely losing their integrity. A SlowStop 4” FlexRail Double guardrail system was installed.
At a toll station protecting both the toll as well as the operator can be a difficult task. Finding a product to keep any over-sized vehicles from trying to pass through the narrow lanes was proving to be a challenge. SlowStop installed Type 3 (6”) SlowStop Bollards in 3M height. After 3 months of testing it was determined that SlowStop was the superior product for this installation and they requested 40 more of the bollards to complete the toll station.
Within warehouse Supplier Zones forklifts are moving in various directions along the same path as pedestrians. This created a safety hazard in which pedestrian were at high risk of injury. Arbel Strauss a direct SlowStop distributor in Israel, installed IronFlex 3” double railing, and since the guarding system is completely modular they were able to create a pedestrian route all along the supplier zone. This created a safe zone for pedestrian traffic to flow through the supplier zones even during high traffic times, without incident.
The challenge was to engineer a system of catch nets to protect employees working under a fast moving overhead conveyor system. In addition, the caught objects must remain undamaged and be retrieved quickly without impeding the workflow.
The challenge was to create a safety net barrier acting as a door to protect both products as well as employees in a warehouse setting. In addition the door needed to be accessible to the driver of a fork lift from the ground level.
Protecting Pedestrians and Infrastructure from facility collisions.
Since 1981, a growth in technology and specialized equipment has enabled Highlight Industries of Wyoming Michigan to assist their clients to think safety first when using their automated equipment. An industry leader in stretch wrappers, case sealers, strapping machines, stretch film test and quality control systems. More recently, Highlight Industries has introduced the Magnum line of case sealers and the Saturn line of strapping machines, applying over 30 years of machine experience to their new product lines.
The process began in 2017 as a project bid to Allenfarm Fence Company located in Hermon, Maine. The project requirement was to design a security partition for a stairwell in Nokomis Middle School in Newport, Maine. After final approval was signed off, the project began fabrication followed by the installation of the partition. Excellent communication between the manufacturer and Allenfarm Fence resulted in a welldesigned security partition and made for a smooth installation, rendering the project a complete success!
A large Midwestern data center needed to secure their servers and decided wire mesh partitions was the logical choice. This particular project required electronic locking system; which may have a significant impact on price, and comes with its’ own installation challenges. Additional mounting plates for the card readers and electronic strikes in both single and double hinge doors were necessary along with panic bars on the inside on the hinge doors were just some of the project requirements.
A brand new BWU6 fulfilment centre in Sydney needed a solid barrier to protect pedestrians, equipment and infrastructure from forklift collisions. The distribution centre had several intersecting traffic streams. This made the risk of collisions very high. Boplan's safety expertise was called upon. Boplan's partner - NPSG Australia - installed various safety solutions such as the TB 400 PLUS, a robust collision protection system with handrails that not only protects against collisions but also guides pedestrians.
Modexpress aimed to enhance safety in its warehouse by addressing the critical need to separate pedestrian traffic from forklift operations. The dynamic nature of warehouse environments, with both employees on foot and vehicles in motion, posed significant risks of accidents and collisions. To mitigate these risks, Boplan® installed robust safety barriers with integrated handrails at strategic locations throughout the facility. These barriers not only create clear physical separations between pedestrian walkways and forklift zones but also improve visibility and guidance for workers, ensuring safer navigation within the warehouse. By implementing these measures, Modexpress has taken a proactive step toward reducing incidents, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a safer working environment for all its employees.
Fahrenheit Logistics Netherlands BV, a leading distribution company and part of the Famalco Group, required robust, durable and visually appealing safety solutions to protect both employees and infrastructure in their new distribution centre from intensive forklift traffic. Boplan delivered and installed various protection products, including bollards, safety barriers, and kick rails, which make a significant contribution to the safety and efficiency of the working environment.
The case study explains how Boplan provided polymer ( plastic ) guard rails, hand rails, traffic barriers and other safety products from the Flex Impact by Boplan product line to protect the infrastructure and people in a new distribution center. Boplan manufatures the original polymer barrier system. Polymer guard rails have a memory, are flexible and thus return to their original shape after impact. This highly reduces replacements, paint jobs and concrete repairs which are associated with traditional steel products.
