Mazzella designs, manufactures, and distributes products and provides service for lifting and material handling applications. Mazzella is one of the largest independently-owned companies in the overhead lifting and rigging industries and is a manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of lifting products for industrial, commercial and specialty applications. In addition, Mazzella is a leader in providing overhead cranes, fall protection, overhead crane services, material handling, specialty machinery, and warehousing solutions.  Offerings include overhead cranes (from light-duty to 150+ ton capacity), custom below-the-hook devices, high-performance wire rope, slings / assemblies, hardware, manual hoists, and specialty lifting products.

Some additional services offered -
Lifting and Rigging Services: Certified rigging inspections (slings, hardware, below-the-hook devices, hoists, fall protection gear) performed in compliance with OSHA, ASME, and ANSI standards. Repairs are offered for alloy chain slings, wire rope bridles, Twin-Path® slings, synthetic web slings, retractable lifelines, and all manufacturers’ blocks.

Inspection Services: Includes documented crane and rigging inspections, visual and non-destructive testing (NDT), and detailed compliance reports. Inspections cover rigging gear, cranes, fall protection, racks, and lifelines by qualified personnel.

Crane Service & Modernization: Maintenance, modernization, 24/7 emergency repairs, crane and runway installation, and laser runway alignments. All welders are AWS certified, and inspections include periodic/annual and frequent/monthly reports.

Training Programs: Safety and operational training such as rigging inspection, overhead crane operator, signalperson, and fall protection—delivered by field-experienced, certified trainers with instruction available in English or Spanish.

Hoist Manufacturers Institute, Inc.

The Hoist Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (HMI) is an independent trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry. HMI’s history starts in 1917 with the Electric Hoist Manufacture’s Association which was dissolved and replaced by the Hoist Manufacturer’s Association in 1956. During this time, hoist performance standards were created. In 1971, these performance standards were published under the Hoist Manufactures Institute name and were the source material for the current ASME Hoist Performance Standards.
